My friends' band had their first show last Saturday night:

Lilith Fair

On Friday afternoon, one of my good friends from college called me up and asked me if I wanted to go to Lilith Fair, for free. She was offered tickets from a friend of hers. OF COURSE I'd like to go!!

It was super hot, but we still managed to have a good time.

These drinks were expensive, so we had to get the most out of them by showing them off.


Our tickets were for the lawn. It was soooo hot.

So about halfway through Mary's set, we were offered upgraded tickets! (Free upgrade to our free tickets!)

At the very end, Sarah invited all the performers onstage and they sang "Because the Night." It was freaking awesome.

Got my hair cut today by what I will refer to as my Ninja Stylist. That's what the Sailor called her when I described my experience. When I got there, she asked me what I wanted, and I said I wanted to cut off at least 8 inches so I could donate it, and then ... make it look good. She looked at my hair and said "I could do a stacked bob." Well that means nothing to me, so I kind of said "OK ..." and she asked if there was a look I liked. I told her I liked Katie Holmes's hair when it was chin-length, and she was hanging out with Victoria Beckham and they had the same cut. And my stylist responded "Yeah ... that's a stacked bob." Well there you go!

Not only that, but she did the cut really quickly but really well. I've had similar cuts before, and I'm used to them spending a lot of time getting it even and doing the layers and such. She did the whole cut in about a half an hour. I was amazed. And it's done well!

I said if I raised at least $1,000 for the American Cancer Society via Relay For Life, I would cut my hair and donate it. Well I raised $1,110. So this evening I will chop my hair and donate it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths.

Add this to my list of "skills." Tonight I gave my roommate a buzz cut. I think I did OK.



Although as a Navy Wife of over a year, I'm a little disappointed that THIS was my first buzz cut.
